The Government of Maharashtra through Department of Higher Education had undertaken large scale tree plantation programme on 1st July, 2016 with the object of increasing vegetation cover in the state of Maharashtra. The staff of Vidya Pratishthan’s Vasantrao Pawar Law College, Baramati participated in tree plantation programme organized at Government Rural Hospital at Rui. The programme was inaugurated by trustee of Vidya Pratishthan Hon’ble Sou. Sunetratai Pawar. She expressed the need of planting the trees as well as conserving them carefully. The Principal of the College Dr. P. Ashokkumar and teaching and non-teaching faculty members of the College also participated in this programme. The Principal of the College expressed the need of active participation of citizens and especially students in conservation programme. The trees such as mango, tamarind, neem, pipal, banyan, gulmohar were planted on this occasion.
One more programme was organized by Forest Department, Govt. of Maharashtra, Vidya Pratishthan and Rotary Club, Baramati at village Undwadi,Parwadi and Jogwadi. Trustee of Vidya Pratishthan Hon’ble Sou. Sunetratai Pawar participated in this programme. Principal Dr. P. Ashokkumar and Mr. Hitendra Shah from the College also participated in this programme. In this programme 87000 plants were planted.Asst. Professor Mr. A.N.Murumkar and Head Clerk S.L. Jadhav participated in tree plantation programme held at Karbhari Nagar, Kasba Baramati.
